TCU to launch regional language courses

AGARTALA, May 2 � Tripura Central University has decided to introduce courses in regional languages like Kokbarak, Mizo, Garo, Adi and Angami and keep 15 per cent of seats reserved for students from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, university officials said.

Earlier, VC Anjan Kumar Ghosh told reporters that four Bangladeshi students were presently studying at Tripura University and 20 more Bangladeshi students have got their names registered for admission in the 2015-16 academic year.

The university has 34 departments and from current academic year would introduce degree and diploma courses through vocational studies in rubber technology and video production in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation and Tripura Government. � PTI
