TBP commanders� meet held

ITANAGAR, May 3 - The first Frontier Level Commanders� Conference 2019 was held at the North East Frontier Headquarters of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Khating Hill here on Thursday and Friday.

The main objective of the two-day conference was to review and strengthen the deployment in the border areas and upgrade the infrastructure in order to arm the troops with innovative equipment to safeguard the Indian territory along the Indo-China border.

Chaired by Sanjeev Raina, IG, NE Frontier, the conference was attended by all the DIGs and commandants of the field formations of the ITBP as well DIGs and officers of the NE Frontier.

Various issues of operational nature were discussed during the conference. A resolution was taken to ensure effective border management. The IG, NE Frontier, exhorted the field commanders to put in their best efforts to achieve better results in execution of their duties.

He appreciated the field commanders for their contribution to managing the functioning of their units with meagre resources despite a huge burden put on their shoulders.

Arunachal Pradesh DGP SBK Singh, who attended the event on the opening day, shared his experiences with the field commanders of the ITBP in policing and administration. He appreciated the duties performed by the ITBP jawans on the borders as well as during the general election and to maintain security.

The IG, NE Frontier, thanked the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh for sharing his experience and stated that ITBP would benefit from his educative session.
