Taxi app launched

By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, Sept 26 - Designed to make it easy for tourists to get hassle-free drive and customise their trip plan, Assam On Wheels today launched its taxi and vehicle management app. This new addition to the taxi portal www.assamonwheels.com was established in 2011 by Nilotpal Saikia in partnership with Kuwali Mudoi.

Senior Manager of Assam Tourism Development Corporation Niren Deka was also present on the occasion.

Assam On Wheels which specially offers outstation tourist taxi service across the major north-eastern states, is headquartered at Ranigate, near LGBI Airport. This app has been designed to make it easy for tourists to create their trip circuit or customise their trip plan, get the estimated price for the chosen vehicle and book it instantly.

The services offered by Assam On Wheels will be limited to local use, for a minimum four hours up to 12 hours, and outstation use for minimum one day up to 30 days. There will be no point-to-point service available through the app like other ride-hailing taxis on the market. We are not here to compete with the existing taxi players but to complement the tourist taxi segment which is the bread earner for our native drivers and tour operators, Saikia said.
