NEW DELHI, July 19 - Protesting DoNER ministry�s decision not to sanction any further anti-erosion projects for the North-east region, Assam BJP MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa on Tuesday urged the Centre to instruct the Ministry to resume sanction of funds for anti-erosion projects.
Moving a Zero Hour Notice in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Tasa said that DoNER is working entirely for the socio-economic development of the North Eastern Region (NER) but they have now decided not to sanction any further projects, especially anti-erosion projects for North Eastern Region, particular in Assam.
Now, the Ministry of DoNER has informed that all the retained and sanctioned anti-erosion projects will be implemented by Ministry of Water Resource and many of the sanctioned projects DPR have been already vetted by the DoNER Ministry. Interestingly, the Ministry of Water Resource is in the dark about the projects, as the vetted DPR were never transferred to Ministry of Water Resource, he claimed.
