GUWAHATI, June 8 - Tarun Saikia, the first Everester of Assam extended his thanks to the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Directorate of Sports, Numaligarh Refinery and other organizations, media for their financial and mental support during his kidney plantation which took place at the Apolo Hospital in Chennai last month.

In a statement Tarun Saikia said, without support from his well wishers, family members, relatives and various organisations it would not have been possible for him to recover from the acute condition.

He specially thanked his younger sister Lakhimi Sarma who donated a kidney to him which virtually saved his life.
