GUWAHATI, May 9 � Badly hit by the miserable road and drain condition for the past several years, the residents of Tarun Nagar, Bylane 6 are irked at the civic authorities for not taking action despite their several complaints.
The area, inhabited by around 60 families, gets submerged under water due to the pathetic drainage system, even at a brief shower.
�Even now, our by-lane is under water making it difficult for the people to commute. The residents are exhausted complaining to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation and submitting memorandums to the officers concerned,� said Biswanath Das, a resident of the locality.
�Our by-lane is beleaguered with several civic problems, but the water-logging issue affects the day-to-day activities of the residents. Since the other two by-lanes on both sides of our by-lane have been raised, the water flows down to our area and causes flash flood in the absence of proper drainage system,� he added.
