ITANAGAR, Nov 23 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu condoled the demise of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who breathed his last on Monday evening while undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post-COVID-19 complications.
Khandu wrote in his Twitter handle: �Saddened by passing away of former CM of Assam Shri @tarun_gogoi Ji. My sincere condolences to the family. My thoughts and prayers with them in this hour of grief.�
Deeply mourning the demise of the veteran Congress leader, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona said. Late Tarun Gogoi was a committed leader who made tremendous contributions towards the development of Assam in particular and North East in general, he said.
�In the demise of Tarun Gogoi, people of the North East, particularly Assam, have lost a great leader,� stated Sona, while extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. He prayed to Almighty God for eternal peace of the departed soul.
