GUWAHATI, Nov 4 - Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today sought the blessings and good wishes of the people of Assam and said he is keen to continue working for the masses of the State.
The veteran leader today sent out an audio message from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he is undergoing treatment since Sunday night.
In the message, Gogoi said he was keen to continue working for the masses and sought blessings of the people. He said that without the blessings of the public and of his parents he would not have been able to accomplish what he had done in life.
I hope the people of Assam will continue to shower me with their love and affection, Gogoi said.
He made a special mention about always being the recipient of love and affection of the people of Titabor and Jorhat.
Love and affection of the masses, of the youths, students, tea garden workers, farmers of villages, weavers and small traders that I have received... that is the main asset of our political life. And taking forward this as the main asset I shall continue my work in future as well, said the three-time Chief Minister.
GMCH Superintendent Dr Abhijit Sarma said Gogois health is now stable and his oxygen saturation level is 94 per cent.
Meanwhile, Congress party sources said Gogois vital parameters are stable and he is keeping abreast of all the latest political developments.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Assam Jitendra Singh went to the GMCH late last evening to inquire about Gogois health.
The former Chief Minister was admitted to the GMCH on Sunday night after he complained of restlessness.
