Tani Happa declared as �Artist Village�

ITANAGAR, May 10 � Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi yesterday declared a village situated along the Assam-Arunachal border as �Artist Village� of the State, as majority of the villagers are artisans and earn their living by selling home-made products.

Tani Happa village in Papum Pare district with an approximate population of 1000, is known for making exotic tribal beads (used in necklaces) and supply the products to the entire State.

Negi, accompanied by State Tourism Secretary and a host of officials visited the village and interacted with the people. � PTI
