SIVASAGAR April 12 - Renowned Tai pundit, research guide to a host of Tai research scholars, former vice principal of the Central Tai Academy at Patsaku, Bokota and the creator of the Tai national song Ray jin so fit dai ni, Chau Jonaram Chung Bun Phukan breathed his last at his Parijat Bokota residence on April 9 last following a brief illness. He was 82.
A devoted follower of Acharya Vinobha Bhabe, he was also the founder secretary, Tai Ahom Students� Union, founder vice president,Tai Sahitya Sabha and a leading member of a host of socio-cultural organisations.
Phukan leaves behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives.
ATASU,Tai Sahitya Sabha, Sivasagar District Journalists� Association, AJYCP and many other organisations have mourned the death of the Tai scholar.
