SIVASAGAR, March 8 � Host Phoenix Cricket Club emerged winners in the 1st Tarun Gogoi Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship defeating Dibrugarh CC by 42 runs in the final at the Pioli Phukan Stadium, here today.
In reply to Phoenix�s 149 for eight, the Dibrugarh side was restricted to 107. Yasir Ali and Utpal Saikia were adjudged man-of-the -series and man-of-the-final respectively. The closing function was attended by Arjuna awardee Bhogeswar Baruah, organisers Manoj Bhagawati, Haren Dwarah, Bikash Borgohain, Somesh Deka, Prasanta Barthakur and Debabrat Gogoi.
