T-20 Challenge Trophy

MANGALDAI, March 12 - Delhi Blasters had mixed results in the two matches they played in the ongoing Jagat Ch Das Memorial 2nd T-20 Challenge Trophy here today.

In the first match played at the Mangaldai Stadium, they registered a convincing five wicket win over defending champions Supernova. Batting first Supernova batsmen couldn�t stand against a fine spell of bowling from Delhi bowlers especially Roshan Kr Madhav (3/23), Ravi Kanta (2/15) and Sachin Singh (2/21) and were all out for only 99 runs on the board with two overs left. Parvez Aziz (21) was the only significant contributor for Supernova. In reply, Delhi boys notched up the required runs losing five wickets and with nine overs to spare. Binay Singh (35), Roshan Basfore (32) and Lokendra Kumar (20) made the task easy for Delhi.

In the other match of the day however, Delhi Blasters were humbled by Royals Club by 36 runs. Royals first scored 158 for five in their stipulated overs. Bikash Singh (42 n.o.), Asif Washimul (32) and Sib Sankar Roy (31) were their major run scorers. Then their bowlers Abir Chakraborty (3/13), Sib Sankar Roy (2/11) and Kishan Laishram (2/24) restricted the Delhi boys for 122. Sandeep Saini (40) was the only Delhi batsman who created some hopes.
