GUWAHATI, June 25 � Noted swimming coach Anwar Rasool, popularly known as Rana, died at his Dighalipukhuripar residence here last night. He was 75.

Rasool was running a training centre at Dighalipukhuri in the 80s and early 90s and was instrumental in producing several leading swimmers like Mithu Baruah, and Elvis Ali Hazarika.

Organisations like Assam Swimming Association, Jorhat Swimming Society, Jorhat Tennis Club, along with the swimmers of the State condoled the death of Rasool. He leaves behind two sons and a daughter.
