Sweden India Nobel quiz on Sept 6

GUWAHATI, Sep 1 - The city will host the eighth qualifying round of the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2015 on September 6.

The event will be held at Cotton College at 10.30 am on that day, said a statement.

The 10-city inter-collegiate quiz competition is a part of the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Week, organised by the Embassy of Sweden and partner companies to enhance the image of Sweden in India.

The week also celebrates the spirit and contribution of the Swedish innovator, entrepreneur and philanthropist Alfred Nobel. Tezpur University was the national winner of the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2014 and the winning team won an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden.

The quiz will bring together quizzers from across reputed colleges and institutes of the city. Participation in this prestigious quiz is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students in teams of three, representing a college.

Winners of the Guwahati round will represent the city at the grand finale to be held in New Delhi on October 16.

Apart from Guwahati, the regional qualifiers will also be held in Indore, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and New Delhi.

National winners will get an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden, where they will get to visit headquarters of partner companies, universities and the Nobel Museum. Quiz master Kunal Savarkar will be the quiz master for the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2015.
