GUWAHATI, May 18 - 1st battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed at Patgaon, organised a Swachh Bharat campaign today by launching a sanitation drive at Ujanbazar ghat, Rani market, Azara Railway Station, St Claret High School Borjhar and in market areas of Mirza and Vijaynagar in Kamrup district.
The NDRF battalion has also decided to create public awareness to ensure participation of the local community in the Swachh Bharat campaign, by conducting familiarisation exercise, mock exercise and community awareness programme.
NDRF teams located in Agartala and Aizawl also joined the campaign in their respective areas. More than 400 personnel of NDRF took part in the exercise in the region, said a statement.
