Swacch Sarvekshan Grameen programme launched in Golaghat dist

JORHAT, July 26 - The Golaghat district administration on Tuesday launched the Swacch Sarvekshan Grameen 2018, a rural cleanliness programme under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation which will rank all districts of the country on the basis of sanitation (swacchata) parameters.

A district administration source said that the ranking will be based on parameters such as data from Swacch Bharat Mission-Gramin IMIS, district-level surveys of public places like schools, anganwadi centres PHCs, haat and bazaars, panchayat and citizen�s perception of swacchata.

Top ranking States and districts will be awarded on October 2, 2018. The survey will be carried out from August 1 to 30, the source stated.

The meeting on the occasion was chaired by Golaghat Additional Deputy Commissioner Dhiraj Das. Additional Deputy Commissioner Utpal Doley, Golaghat SDO (Civil) SK Gogoi, Dhansiri SDO (Civil), Bipul Das, SDO (Civil) Bokakhat, Vivek Shyam, Executive Engineer, PHE, Monoranjan Saikia and heads of various departments and officials from PHE department were present in the meeting, the source said.

The campaign is scheduled to be launched centrally in Guwahati on July 26.
