By The Assam Tribune

Suzuki is all set to launch its Gixxer 250 model in India on May 20. A brochure revealing the looks and technical details of the bike have been leaked online. The image clearly shows that the new Suzuki bike is likely to be called as Gixxer SF 250.

The design cues of the bike have been borrowed from its smaller sibling, the Gixxer 150. Suzuki offers the Gixxer SF 250 with a new fairing and an LED headlamp which gives the bike a more aggressive look. Other highlight features include the clip-on handlebar, golden finish on the engine, telescopic front forks and a mono-shock suspension at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, presence of alloy wheels, a new redesigned LED tail light along with the chrome-tipped double barrel exhaust which has been carried forward from the current Gixxer model.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will be powered by a single-cylinder, SOHC, oil-cooled engine with displacement of 249cc. The fuel-injected engine churns out a peak power of 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox. The kerb weight of the bike is 161kg and the fuel tank capacity is 12 litres.

To be launched at a price of Rs.1.80 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2019 Gixxer SF 250 will toughly compete with its rivals Yamaha Fazer 25, Honda CBR 250R and Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
