GUWAHATI, Nov 17 - Police today intercepted a Xylo SUV and recovered about Rs 50 lakh from the Bhangagarh area under Paltan Bazar Police Station. The money mostly in the denomination of the now invalid Rs 500 notes.
Police has detained the driver of the vehicle bearing registration number ASOI AN 3975 for questioning.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Ranjan Bhuyan said that the source of the money is being traced to ascertain whether or not the money was part of some held-up black money.
