Suspected ULFA men resort to firing

DIBRUGARH, June 10 - Two motorcycle-borne youths, suspected ULFA (I) cadres resorted to firing near the office of Hajua TE near Moranhat town in Charaideo district after they failed to extort money from the garden yesterday. The youths fired three rounds before escaping from the scene. They were looking for Shahbaz Anwar, the assistant manager of the garden. When they were informed by the watchmen that Anwar was out of station, they resorted to gun fire and left immediately. Anwar was reportedly served an extortion note of Rs 10 lakh in a letter pad. �We have picked up one person for questioning ,� Annand Mishra, SP, Charaideo told The Assam Tribune.
