BISWANATH CHARIALI, Sept 21 - Gohpur Police apprehend a supected hacker named Lala Singh (45) from Guwahati with the help of Dispur Police in connection with the missing of Rs 2,28,000 from the bank account of one Tridip Hazarika, Headmaster of Mahendrapur Primary School under Gohpur sub-division in Biswanath district on August last.

According to information available, the money was reportedly transferred from Hazarikas account in the Balijan branch of State Bank of India to another account several times. When the bank authorities could not give any proper reply in this matter, Hazarika filed an FIR at Gohpur Police Station and a case was registered bearing No. 218/2018 under Sections of IPC 379 and 420. After investigation by police, it came to light that Hazarikas money was transferred to two accounts of Lala Singh and his son Chintu Singh, respectively, in the Dispur branch of SBI and withdrawn soon after the transfer had been made. On the basis of this information, police arrested Lala Singh.

However, Chintu Singh fled the scene. Police suspect a huge group of hackers operating from Gohpur to Guwahati and might be involved in the incident.

On the other hand, a section of local people have alleged that such type of incidents have frequently occurred in the said SBI branch.
