DIPHU, Jan 28 � Nature has endowed the hill tracts of Karbi Anglong district with a great variety of flora and fauna. The hill district is also blessed with elegant waterfalls and hill streams.
Believe it or not, but it is true that a supernatural water stream, situated at Donghaph hill near Parokhowa under Diphu subdivision has been drawing the attention of the people. The site is about 5 km way from Parokhowa and the NH-36.
The most significant character of the stream is that after the sun sets, the water begins to warm up and before the sun rises again in the morning, the water starts to chill. According to the local people, the water remains extremely cold during the hot summer season too.
It may be mentioned here that in this era of advanced science and technology, the cause behind the strange phenomenon during the two specific periodic times has not been ascertained as yet.
Another amazing quality of the water is that patients suffering from various type of diseases also get well if they use the water as medicine. Hence, local people believe that it is a gift of God and they worship the supernatural stream for peace and their welfare.
It is interesting that neither any organisation nor any governmental agency has taken any steps yet to study or look into the supernatural phenomenon.
Meanwhile, the local MAC and EM for Health and Family Planning Department, KAAC, Ashok Teron visited the spot and said that he will take an initiative in this matter in consultation with the KAAC authority.
