Sunrise set up summit clash with NF Rly SC

GUWAHATI, July 12 - Sunrise Athletic Club set up a summit clash with NF Railway Sports Club in the 12th Nripendra Narayan Bhattacharyya Knock-out Football Tournament.

In the second semifinal of the Guwahati Sports Association organised championship at the Nehru Stadium here today, Sunrise rallied to down Assam Police Blues 3-1. No team could break the deadlock during the first 45 minutes as the game was basically confined to the midfield. But players of both the teams shook up after the first half slumber and netted as many as four goals.

The policemen went 1-0 ahead in the 65th minute when defender N Bikash Singh converted a spot kick which they earned following a foul on their attacker Mofidul Islam.

But the Sunrise players came back after being stung by the reverse and levelled the issue after four minutes through Malaram Basumatary. In the 74th minute substitute Manoj Boro put his team ahead and finally Gulap Rabha confirmed their victory scoring the third goal in the 83rd minute.
