Summer hobby camp at RSC from July 1

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 13 - As in previous years, Regional Science Centre (RSC) Guwahati will be organising a summer hobby camp for children and others on its premises here from July 1 to 26.

The camp will be organised on six different topics science with magic, art and craft, designing with Photoshop, fun with electronics, science with creativity and robotic.

There will also be an educational trip to Biotech Park, IIT Guwahati, for all the students.

A computer course Designing with Photoshop has also been introduced for senior citizens and housewives as part of the camp.

RSC Guwahati project coordinator B Mandal said that the summer hobby camp provides students a unique platform to develop their innovative ideas into meaningful kits or models.

This also provides children an opportunity to work in a team and in effective utilisation of the summer holidays. It is a nodal point for all those students who have a desire to explore science by practically doing experiments with fun. The activities of a hobby camp help in building the self-confidence of the children, he said.

Registration will be on first-come-first-serve basis at RSC Guwahati as the number of seats is limited. Certificates will be given to all participants on the last day of the camp.
