GUWAHATI, March 1 � The SU-30 MKI was formally inducted at Air Force Station Chabua today. The induction was done through a symbolic ceremony with the inaugural flight of the SU 30 MKI taking off. This was followed by a fly past by three SU 30 MKI aircraft.
Air Marshal KK Nohwar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief Eastern Air Command, Air Commodore Mrigendra Singh Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Chabua, senior officers from Indian Army and Indian Air Force as well as civil dignitaries were present on the occasion, according to a press release.
Speaking to the media on the occasion Air Marshal Nohwar said that the Vijaynagar runway is being repaired and will be soon open to operations.
