JORABAT, Sept 10 - World Suicide Prevention Day 2020 was observed at the District Hospital at Sonapur today.
The programme themed �Working together to prevent suicide� was attended by the doctors and staff of the hospital.
Conducted as per NMHP guidelines, the event focused on elimination of stigma associated with suicide and COVID-19.
The speakers were Hemanga Thakuria, Rupali Barman and Namita Haloi. Leaflets on suicide prevention and mental health were distributed among the attendees.
An awareness campaign on suicide prevention and mental health were also carried out through distribution of leaflets and other materials among the COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
