SUCI (Communist) announces list of candidates ahead of polls

Silchar, March 2: Following the announcement of the dates by the Election Commission of India for the ensuing Assembly elections in Assam, the state unit of Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) Communist has issued the list of candidates it has fielded for the poll battle.

‌‌In a release issued to the press, Chandralekha Das informed that the party will field candidates in 28 seats across the state including seven seats in Barak Valley.

Cachar district secretary Bhabatosh Chakraborty informed on Tuesday that for the seven seats in Cachar district, Dulali Ganguly has been named to contest from Silchar constituency, Anjan Chanda from Sonai and Gour Chandra Das will be contesting from Dholai seat. Blaming other political parties mainly the BJP for the failures to solve the core issues of unemployment, closure of industries, vexed issue of citizenship etc, the SUCI leaders informed that preparations to reach out to the electorates with messages to support their candidates has already been accelarated.
