GUWAHATI, Aug 9 - The Post-graduate Students� Union, Gauhati University today handed over a memorandum to the university authority over the alleged submission of a fake extracurricular activities certificate of the 2013-2014 youth festival for enrolment into the new academic session (2015-16).
The student body demanded an inquiry to bust the admission racket. It alleged that the fake certificate was issued from the office of the Director of Students Welfare and demanded an inquiry by Monday, threatening that otherwise it would lock down the Director of Students Welfare office.
Talking to this correspondent, Dr Ranjan Kumar Kakoti, Director of Students Welfare, Gauhati University, said that it was the admission committee that detected the fake certificate.
