MANGALDAI, April 12 - Sadou Mangaldai Rongali Bihu Sanmilani, a leading Bihu celebration committee in the State, has cancelled its all pre-scheduled programmes except the flag hoisting ceremony. In response to the appeal made by the government, the Sanmilani has decided to observe the flag hosting function here at the historic Gandhi Maidan on April 14 from 9-30 am where only five members, including its president and working president will take part. This was stated by the Sanmilani�s new secretary Manab Pratim Das. Rongali Bihu celebration without dhol, taal and pepa has made Bihu revellers disappointed to some extent.
Meanwhile, a social media post titled �Saba dei nachoni gaate gaa lagibo� with a photograph of three Bihu artistes in colourful traditional attire but maintaining the preventive protocols of COVID 19 has recently gone viral. The idea was conceived by Hiranya Kumar Nath, prominent designer and proprietor of Graphica Design Studio, Guwahati. The photo shoot was carried out in a green natural location of Florica Nursery, Balipara, Sipajhar.
Talking to this correspondent, designer Nath said, �In view of the rising cases of novel coronavirus, we must follow the guidelines set by the Health Ministry to prevent spread of the COVID-19.�
