GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - A sub-treasury was inaugurated at Sonapur recently by MLA of Dispur constituency Atul Bora, in presence of Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) Virendra Mittal, Director of Accounts and Treasury Bidyut Dekaraja and other senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Bora expressed satisfaction at the setting up of the sub-treasury which was a long-pending demand of the people of Sonapur.
Mittal, in his speech, said that the sub-treasury would help the people of Dimoria block which covers 12 gaon panchayats.
Dekaraja said the new office would not only be helpful to government officials but also the common people.
Circle Officer of Sonapur revenue circle Zenifer Yasmin will be the in-charge Treasury Officer of the sub-treasury, which will also have six other officials.
