Students urged to follow path shown by RG Baruah

RAHA, Oct 15 - �RG Baruah was the architect of modern Assam. He had made immense contribution to the field of sports, culture and education of the State. There is no true patriot in Assam like RG Baruah. His love for the people of Assam is umatched,� said Rupak Sharma, MLA, Nagaon while formally inaugurating the �Singhapurush RG Baruah Memorial All Assam Art Competition 2018 organised by the Assam Tribune Sports Club at Pradip Art and Craft in Nagaon.

At the Jyoti Art School, the competition was formally inaugurated by distinguished artist Dadul Chaliha by drawing a picture of Radha Govinda Baruah in five minutes. He called upon the students to follow the path shown by RG Baruah. Dulal Bora of Akonir Sahitya Sabha who moderated the function said in his speech that it was only RG Baruah who introduced Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa�s great literary works among the Assamese people. In the programme, social worker Mukut Bhuyan, artist Sujit Das, Asomiya Sahitya Samilani state secretary Dhananjoy Talukdar, artist Noyonmoni Mishra, Papu Mojumdar, Partha Bora, Ratul Goswami also spoke a few lines on RG Baruah and the Assam Tribune Group remembering their contributions towards the uplift of Assam.

All the distinguished guests present on the occasion were welcomed by Chandanjyoti Bora, correspondent, Dainik Asam, Nagaon with a phulam gamosa on behalf of the Assam Tribune Sports Club.

A total of 530 students from different schools and colleges took part in the art competition held at 12 venues across the district.
