DIBRUGARH, May 2 � The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya here accused VK Solanki, the principal of the school for the murder of Rahul Uzir (19), a student of Class-XI even as they staged a demonstration at the entrance of the school building on Friday.
Rahul Uzir was found hanging from a noose in his house in Bokel Dairy Farm Colony during the intervening night of April 29 and 30. The protesting students alleged that the principal had behaved rudely with Rahul the previous day in the school. They said that the principal compelled him to take the extreme step.
Several students held placards and shouted slogans against him in front of the gate of the school building on Friday morning. They demanded that the principal be sacked. Even the parents of Rahul levelled charges of harassment against the principal. Babul Kumar Uzir told mediapersons that his son was depressed and frustrated due to the harassment.
The principal, however, said that Rahul had failed in two subjects in the Class-XI exam and also could not clear the supplementary examination. Police has denied having found any suicide note as claimed by some students.
