TEZPUR, Nov 10 - Aadhaar enrolment for students of Sonitpur district was formally inaugurated here on Monday by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha at a programme held at the Tezpur Govt Boys� HS School.
The programme was attended by Inspector of Schools Prabhat Das, Principal of the Tezpur Govt Boys� HS School Thaneswar Deka and others.�
It may be noted that the education department of Sonitpur launched the Aadhaar enrolment programme in 10 nodal schools, presently under four education blocks of the district, with one in the Naduar block and three each in Gabharu, Balipara and Dhekiajuli development blocks.�Each nodal school will look after Aadhaar enrolment of two to three nearby schools.�
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC asked the operators and supervisors to ensure timely and correct enrolment of Aadhaar.�He informed that each nodal school will take up enrolment of 25 to 30 students in one batch, with two batches per day, targeting 500 students daily across the district. The target of 2,32,687 during 2019-20 is expected to be completed in around two months.�
District programme officers of SSA Krishna Deka and Ritupaban Rajkhowa have been appointed nodal officers for the enrolment programme in Sonitpur. The government has supplied two Aadhaar kits against each education block and two kits against the DI office, Tezpur.
