Student drowns in Pare River

ITANAGAR, April 18 - In a tragic incident, a teenaged school boy has drowned in Pare River near Doimukh in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh last afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Nabam Abo, 16, a class-X student and son of Nabam Ishwar of Parang village under Sagalee ADC headquarters, who was residing at Khola Camp near Doimukh.

Reportedly, the deceased, along with some of his friends, had gone to the river when the incident occurred at around 1 pm. His body was fished out at around 3.30 pm. The body was later handed over to the family.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu condoled the demise of the schoolboy and announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin.
