GUWAHATI, July 24 - The All Kamrup District Students� Union today staged a demonstration in protest against the failure of the health department in tackling the outbreak of Japanese encephalitis in the State.
The student body also sent memoranda to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the health directorate, demanding immediate government intervention, including supply of medicines.
The student body also demanded that the State health authorities initiate concerted measures comprising supply of medicines, distribution of medicated mosquito nets, awareness drives in the affected areas, spraying of DDT, etc., on a war-footing.
