Strict action sought against illegal parking, street vendors

GUWAHATI, March 2 - The Jalukbari Kendriya Nagarik Samiti urged the district administration to take strict against illegal parking and street vendors near the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra at Jalukbari.

The Samiti had written a letter to the Deputy Inspector General of Police Nitul Gogoi in this regard recently.

�The Samiti in a statement said illegal parking and vending shops are creating chaos in the area and diluting the beauty of the Samadhi Kshetra. The government had declared no parking zone near the Samadhi Kshetra. However, illegal parking and vending shops still thrive in the area. We urge the authority concerned to take strict action in this regard,� the Nagarik Samiti stated.
