Story writing contest among NE children

GUWAHATI, Aug 27 - With an aim to provide a wider platform to the child writers of north-east India and take the region�s literature to the world stage, Karadi Tales, a children�s publishing giant from south India based in Chennai and Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival, north-east India�s first multilingual literary and arts forum, have collaborated to organise a children�s story writing competition from Tuesday.

The winner of the competition will get an opportunity to publish the winning story with Karadi Tales, besides being awarded with the winner�s trophy to be awarded by the Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival.

Submissions for the competition themed �Northeast India�s vibrant indigenous culture, customs and folk tales�, will be open until October 30 and the results will be declared on November 14 on Children�s Day, 2020.

Interested children up to 16 years of age may contact Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival for details of the competition and for submission of their stories.

This is a direct opportunity for the children of north-east India to vie for an opportunity to see their writings get published by a publishing giant like Karadi Tales which was founded in 1996. Those submitting their stories early will win ten early bird prizes consisting of audio books from Karadi Tales. Besides, participants will get certificates of participation, a press release said.
