GUWAHATI, Dec 26 - Twelve days after an amount of Rs 11 lakh was stolen from the owner of a broiler trader here, Bharalumukh police recovered Rs 8.40 lakh from a location at Sipajhar and arrested two of the accused.
The complainant, Niren Das, had lodged an FIR that one of his employees Dhrubajyoti Deka had fled with Rs 11.90 lakh which was given to him for depositing in the bank on December 14.
�Dhrubajyoti gave Rs 10 lakh to his friend Nripen Deka of Sipajhar and fled to Chennai via air. Nripen had brought a bullet motorcycle for himself with the money and had hidden the remaining amount at his backyard. We seized Rs 8.40 lakh from the spot yesterday and Nripen was arrested,� Bharalumukh PS officer-in-charge Moni Chamuah said.
Dhrubajyoti was also tracked at Maligaon today and arrested.
