SILCHAR, April 18 - Regular works in almost all departments and sections under Cachar district administration were disrupted on Monday as the employees under Sadau Assam Zila Prashashan Karmachari Sanstha were out on the streets to protest the show-cause notice served on Chunilal Das Laskar, a patowary and Joydip Nath, a junior assistant under the Cachar district administration.
It has been learnt that the show cause was issued after a complaint was lodged by a senior staffer of the office of the Deputy Commissioner that the two persons had misbehaved with him during the festival of Holi earlier in March this year.
Bikramjit Chakraborty, state secretary of the association said, �We were awestruck to find the notice, especially when the matter was resolved by the District Development Commissioner Cachar, Madhumita Choudhury on March 26. The members demanded withdrawal of the notice during Monday�s protest. However, employees have suspended their protest after they received a written assurance from the DDC of a possible solution to their demand.
