Stir by Mandals, Kanangus

TINSUKIA, Oct 14 - In accordance with the decision of All Assam Mandal Kanangu Sanmilani, the Mandals and Kanangus of the Revenue Circle offices of Tinsukia district too abstained from their duties for two days on October 12 and 13 in protest against the non-fulfilment of their 14-point charter of demands. Their cease-work affected the normal functioning of Revenue Circle offices.

The charter of demands of the Sanmilani includes treatment of the services of Mandals and Kanangus as technical services, deposit of money to be received as per the 5th Pay Commission in the Provident Fund, release of fixed TA, payment of the recommended Grade Pay, promotion of Kanangu to the post of Revenue Inspector under Pay Band 3 on the basis of performance, preparation of Service Rules, payment of medical bonus, etc.

The Sanmilani also demanded that the dilapidated buildings of the Circle offices should be reconstructed or repaired.
