By Correspondent

NALBARI, Jan 16 The Nalbari district administration has taken up unique measures for the beautification of Nalbari town. The Nalbari Deputy Commissioner, Dr Om Prakash has called upon the people to paint the business establishments, walls and entrances of government offices with the same colour by January 26.

The Deputy Commissioner, meanwhile, organised three meetings at the PNC Road and NT Road to convey his messages. In response to the call of the Deputy Commissioner, the public selected the ivory cream colour and have started colouring the front sides of their establishments. The Deputy Commissioner further requested the business establishments to cover the places from the footpath to the entrances with concrete so that the earth is not drained out during the rains causing waterlogging. Besides, the DC has also requested the business establishments to place two green dustbins and two plants in tubs in front of their establishments.

Meanwhile, the district administration has installed a hundred green dustbins in different parts of the town. The drains of the town have been cleared so that the storm water could drain out. Besides, electric poles erected on the roads have been changed. As a result, the Nalbari town has started wearing a new look.
