GUWAHATI, March 7 � The Asam Sahitya Sabha, while observing that not much has been done to create an awareness about the contributions of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa among the present generation, has decided to install full-size statues and busts of the illustrious son of the soil in several places in the State.
Vice president of the literary body, Paramananda Rajbongshi said that a decision in this connection was taken at a steering committee meet of the sabha. �We have decided to install full size statues of Lakshminath Bezbaroa in Guwahati and Dibrugarh and his busts in some of the major towns,� he said informing that the award instituted in memory of the Sahityarathi has been enhanced to Rs 2 lakh.
