GUWAHATI, Jan 8 - The 45th Assam State Weightlifting Championship was held at SAI, Guwahati complex here from January 5 to 7.
Teams including India Post, SAI, IIT and NF Railway took part in the championship which was inaugurated by former Sports Commissioner Swapnanil Barua.
Competition was held for men and women in both the junior and senior categories respectively. The championship was conducted by international category one referee Bhabajyoti Goswami.
Results: (Best lifter jr women) Popy Hazarika (Sivasagar), (senior) Madhusmita Baruah (Jorhat). (Best lifter jr men) Gulap Gogoi (Dibrugarh), (Senior) Champak Dutta (NFR). (Women best team) Dhansiri, (men best team) Dibrugarh.
