GUWAHATI, Jan 1 - The 43rd Assam State Inter District Weightlifting Championship will be held at Sivasagar from January 2 to 4.
The championship will be organised by the District Weightlifting Association, Sivasagar under the aegis of the Assam Weightlifting Association for both male and female in junior and senior categories. Competitions will be conducted in the weight categories of 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, 94kg, 105kg and above 105kg for men and 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, 69kg, 75kg and above 75kg for women.
The Assam team for the Youth and Junior National Weightlifting Championship, to be held at Patna from February 22, will be picked from this championship, stated a release.
