LUCKNOW, Oct 9 - Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday described the Indian International Science Festival (IISF) at Lucknow as the most successful and the world�s biggest India International Science Festival.
�The festival has broken all records,� he said, addressing the valedictory function of the India International Science Congress 2018.
Meanwhile, students of Assam participating in the North East Students� Conclave at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan (IGP) here on Monday displayed an array of innovations.
The duo of Biswajeet Sarma and Gunjan Nath of Dhekiajuli High School displayed bio-fertiliser which they made out of eco-friendly raw material like cow urine and neem, among others.
Uddipta Goswami of South Bajali High School made a poster presentation. Juman Das of Mitoni Rewa Maheswari School displayed the scientific benefits of 101 vegetables normally taken during festival. Biki Singha displayed products like japi, sarai, and watch made by using waste paper.
Meanwhile, the film Everyone is Unique bagged the first prize at the International Science Literature and Film Festival on the concluding day in the category of �Inspired India � A film made by students�.
Meanwhile, addressing the valedictory function, Union Minister for Transport and National Highways Nitin Gatkari explained in detail on efficient bio-fuel generation.
UP Science and Technology Minister Dinesh Sharma said Lucknow is fortunate to have played host to the programme.
The festival saw students making two world records by isolating DNA of banana and taking training on first aid.
The science festival was inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday.
The stalls of various departments, including DRDO, ISRO, ICAR, ICSR, Nuclear science, Biotechnology, Medical Health and Railways, besides others attracted the people.
IISF is conceivably the biggest platform in India that brings together students, researchers, artists and general public to celebrate our nation�s achievements in science and technology. It is a medium to encourage the young minds towards the field of science and to promote networking of stakeholders working towards the propagation of science.
