State ranking TT meets in city from July 25

GUWAHATI, July 14 - The Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) is organising the 5th Nagen Hazarika and 9th RG Baruah All Assam Major Ranking Table Tennis Championships from July 25 to 30 at the Desbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium here.

Around 450 players from all the affiliated districts � Guwahati, Nagaon, Tezpur, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Nazira, Namrup, Dibrugarh, North Lakhimpur, Silchar and Duliajan along with institutions like Oil India Ltd, NF Rly are expected to take part in these championships. The entries to be send to Tridib Duvarah, secretary, ATTA on or before July 17. Altogether 10 individual events will be held from cadet level to senior level for both men and women.

Chandan Goswami of Nagaon and Biman Bhagawati of Sivasagar have been appointed as chief referee for the Nagen Hazarika Ranking and RG Baruah Ranking Championships respectively.

Nayan Jyoti Sarma, treasurer, ATTA, of Jorhat will act as official observer for both the championships.
