GUWAHATI, Sept 30 � Most of the political parties of the State have welcomed the verdict of the Allahabad High Court on the Ayodhya issue. No untoward incident has been reported from any part of the state following the verdict.
The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has welcomed the verdict on Ayodhya. Party president Chandra Mohan Patowary, while, welcoming the verdict, appealed to all sections of people of Assam to maintain peace and harmony.
The All India United Democratic Front (AUDF) working president HRA Choudhury said that his party has accepted the verdict as per its previous announcement that it would honour whatever verdict is issued by the Court. Those who feel aggrieved with the verdict , for them the door of the Supreme Court is open, he said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh while greeting the verdict of the Allahabad High Court has called upon people of all faith to respect the judgement of the court and strengthen the age old ties of amity and brotherhood.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has appealed to the people of the State to be on their vigil against the anti national elements that might attempt to disrupt law and order by creating misunderstanding amongst different communities. The party has instructed its workers to be on their guard against the rumour mongers.
