State flood scenario improving

GUWAHATI, June 20 � The flood situation in Assam showed signs of improving rapidly with little over 15,000 people reeling under the waters today in more than 70 villages across the state, down from the 30,000 persons affected yesterday, reports PTI.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said in its daily flood report that more than 15,300 people are affected as of now in 72 villages across Barpeta, Dhemaji, Tinsukia, Morigaon and Lakhimpur districts.

Till yesterday, over 30,000 people were affected in 121 villages under seven districts.
