State Finance panel visits Morigaon

MORIGAON, July 8 - The 6th State Finance Commission led by its Chairperson and former Chief Secretary TY Das paid an official visit to Morigaon district headquarters today and took part in an important meeting at the District Library auditorium.

The high-level official team of the State Finance Commission met the representatives of several panchayats, presidents of zila parishads and chairpersons of Morigaon Municipal Board and Jagiroad Development Authority. Addressing the gathering, the former Chief Secretary appealed to the panchayat representatives and government officials of all the development blocks of Morigaon district to implement the development schemes in a transparent manner.

She said that utilisation of government funds in a proper way is the need of the hour, for which representatives and officials must work sincerely. The poor and downtrodden people of the society must be benefited through the rural development schemes. The State Finance Commission will study in depth the lacunae in the execution of the works in different parts of the State, she added.

In the meeting, CEO, Morigaon Zila Parishad Kishore Thakuria and other top officials of the district took part.
