State film for Int�l film fest

GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - Filmmaker Sanjib Sabhapandit's latest feature film Dikchow Banat Palaax (The way of the Soul) has been selected for the Indian Panorama section of the 47th International Film Festival of India scheduled to be held in Goa in the second week of November, 2016. The film will form a part of the package to represent India in all the countries of the world for the next one year.

Meanwhile, Alifa � a new film from Assam directed by young filmmaker Dwip Choudhury and directed by Arman Ahmed has been selected in the competitive category of the 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).

The festival, to be held from November 11 to November 18, is one of the major film events. Alifa has been selected among more than 50 films produced and directed by national and international filmmakers. The film, made in dialect of East Bengal, spoken in Lower Assam is based on the struggles of a worker�s family, which migrated from a village to Guwahati in search of livelihood. The cast of the film include Baharul Islam and Jaya Shil Ghosh, among others.
