GUWAHATI, Nov 18 - The draft electoral rolls, in connection with the special summary revision with respect to January 1, 2021 as qualifying date, have been published today.
The draft electoral rolls will be available for inspection with the booth level officers and electoral registration officers. Voters can also check the rolls in the website of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Those eligible persons who will be attaining the age of 18 on January 1, 2021 as qualifying date can apply for registration of their names before December 15 next.
According to the draft electoral rolls, there are 22439522 voters � 11425748 male and 11013774 female. The number of voters have increased by 0.34 per cent since the last final publication of electoral rolls, and 76020 new voters were added. The highest number of voters is in the 20-29 age category - 6064678.
There are 28205 polling stations in the State.
The gender ratio which was 954 in the Census 2011, rose to 964 according to the draft rolls.
Meanwhile, The draft electoral rolls for No 51 Jalukbari, No 52 Dispur, No 53 Gauhati East and No 54 Gauhati West LACs under Kamrup Metropolitan Election District were published today.
This has been done in connection with the special summary revision of the Photo Electoral Rolls, 2021. The period for filing claims and objections started today and will continue till December 12. Disposal of claims and objections will be done by January 5, 2021, and preparation of supplements will be carried out by January 14, 2021.
The final publication of electoral rolls will take place on January 15, 2021, according to a notice issued by the District Election Officer of Kamrup Metropolitan Election District.
